On February 6, 2006 at 12:01 AM the American Internet Radio Network began broadcasting music on Live365. The move that was announced on Jan. 25, 2006 is now a reality! AIR Network will be able to offer Live & Recorded programs 24/7.
On Monday, Feb. 13, 2006 the American Internet Radio Network went on Live for the first time! It was the RMT Show and all did go well. Everyone on the show talked about everything.
C&W Our Parent Company
For those that do not know the American Internet Radio Network or AIR Network has a parent company! C&W Broadcasting is the compny that runs this small internet only radio station. They are the company that brings syndiated shows to the station and runs the station budget. C&W Broadcasting nor AIR Network have any income, everything is paid for by our stations volunteer workers.
C&W Broadcasting was formed when AIR Network left the Pirate Radio Network to start on Live365. It was mostly created to end our former station WNBC Internet Radio. Sometimes AIR Network has a WNBC Flashback to remember the old times since no shows were recorded. Tune in and maybe you will be luck to catch an old flashback show!
C&W now AIR Broadcasting
In June 2008 C & W Broadcasting who could not work with stations to get better ratings closed it's doors and was bought by AIR Broadcasting. The new parent company of AIR Network is set and determined to bring back the high ratings. Among other things new contracts will be worked out to make volunteer employees part of the parent company not the station where he or she works.
Also starting in August 2008 a study will begin to study if there are other ways to broadcast beside Live 365. With there price vs number of streams adujstment the cost is too much.
THE END OF THE ROAD
On November 17, 2008 A memo was sent out and it stated that AIR Broadcasting will be ending all operations on Friday November 21, 2008. At that time each staton can remain open under there own power, only one station said it will remain open (AIR Network). That soon changed when the second memo, this one sent from AIR Network stated that all Live365 operations will end on December 31, 2008 with the station still being open for limited operations.
This is more or less the end of the road for the American Interet Radio Network. The entire staton will end all operations come 2009 and the programs once offered will all just be momories.
MAYBE BE BACK ON?
On October 14, 2009 a deal was reached with Live365 to bring back AIR Network! Later on at 4pm the station was once again back on Live365! The deal give the station a 4 month deal to get rolling again. But there is a one year minimum so AIR Network will be back for at least one year. If the ratings hold up then the return may be here!
